Suman Hedge Bloodstock was an active participant at the 2021 William Inglis Classic Sale once again as a buyer and seller of yearlings.
As a buyer, SHB purchased a total of 4 yearlings in partnership with McEvoy Mitchell, Will Clarken Racing and Mick Price Racing/Snippets Racing.
First up SHB teamed up with McEvoy Mitchell Racing to secure an athletic colt by first season sire Pariah offered by Arrowfield Stud for 160K. The bay colt who was much admired by many is from the Pins mare Gottalikeher a full sister to Group 3 and Karaka Million placed Felton Road. This is a family of considerable depth which also features group winning horses such as Probabeel, Savvy Coup, Legless Verve and Tootsie.
SHB did not wait long to strike again purchasing LOT 18 a colt by young Newgate Stud stallion Winning Rupert this time with Will Clarken Racing for 100K.
The attractive chestnut colt is out of the Dolphin Street mare Grenada and is a ¾ relation to highly talented Written Tycoon mare Press Report a multiple Group placegetter and earner of $453,500 in stakes.
Next up SHB purchased LOT 394, a gorgeous filly by young Arrowfield stallion Shalaa in partnership with Mick Price Racing and Snippets Racing Syndications for 220K.
The strong brown filly drew strong competition throughout the sale ground and impressed as one of the best physical specimens in the sale. She is from a daughter of leading broodmare sire Lonhro and descends from the family of quality stakes horses Speedy Bell, Silverstream, Speedy Natalie and Sweet and Speed.
LOT 654, a filly by Impending from American mare Lakotadreamcatcher was the final purchase for SHB again in partnership with Will Clarken Racing for 40K.
This filly who undoubtedly had the biggest walk and overstep in the entire sale is by a first season sire who has left a very strong impression with buyers and is from an international family scattered with black type performers.
SHB was also active as a seller with a private pinhook offered by Noorilim Park selling for 70K. The athletic colt by Tosen Stardom was a partnership with Noorilim Park Manager Sherah Sullivan and represented a good return on the purchase.
SHB also sold a lovely colt via Silverdale Farm by Star Witness on behalf of Myrrh Australia. This strong colt, catalogued as LOT 299 is from the Rory’s Jester mare Seamstress and from the family of stakes winners Dangerous Seam, Seidnazar and Real Jester and drew the attention of leading agent John Foote for 160K.
